This warms the cockles of my cockles. It’s a beautiful thing to have seen Benedict when he did smaller roles, like “Third Star” and “Hawking”. In a way, I almost miss it. It’s so strange to see how quickly someone can become the center of attention when they were already the center of yours long ago. I enjoyed the beauty of his anonymity. I am, in one way, so amazed and proud of the work he does, but in another I feel sorry that he can never walk down the street again and not be noticed. It is sad that anything I could say (if I ever met him) would just be another fan’s ramble; just another voice in the roaring crowd he finds himself in. And don’t get me wrong: I am so glad that he has such wonderful fans. I have been trying to get people on the Cumberbandwagon for years, so…THAT part I love! But, celebrity is so strange to me. It is a practice of selective ignorance.
I think people are interviewing Benedict now just to hear the Neutron Cream story… T___T |
